Teacher talk plays an important role in the English class;it is the media of teaching and the important source of obtaining knowled ge.The quality and quantity of teacher talk will influence and even determine the su ccess or failure of the classroom teaching.Teacher talk has special functions, types and characteristics;however,there exist many problems of teacher talk in our country’s English classroom.It is very vital to do some corresponding improvement strategies in order to improve the quality of teacher talk and carr y out teaching effectively.
