| 摘 要： | 1894年8月,法国税务司李约德在越南芒街被匪徒绑架。这本是一桩普通的刑事案件,但在处理的时候,却升格为关系中法条约的交涉。在交涉中,法国粗暴干涉中国的内政,蛮横地向中国索赔,几乎将这一偶发事件导致为战争。李约德事件的交涉,体现了近代中国弱国地位的苦楚。
