| 摘 要： | 《吉姆》是英国第一位诺贝尔文学奖获得者鲁德亚德.吉卜林的代表作,这部作品在英国文学史上也是独一无二的。为了更好地理解小说以及故事发生的社会大背景,本文从英控印政策、民族气节和异族通婚三个方面探讨这部小说中的社会现实因素。吉卜林在英国文学史上仍是个十分有争议的作家,解读他的代表作对于完整地解读这位大师也非常有必要。
