Contributions of Jose De San Martin to the independence of Latin America

As an outstanding leader in the movement of independence of Latin America,Jose De San Martin devoted himself to the liberation cause of Latin America.Inspired by the idea of equality and patriotism,he gave up his affluent and comfortable life in Spain,went back to his motherland,and took part in the struggle against the Spanish colonialism.It was he who,sizing up the situation,made and carried out the fighting plan,i.e.climbing over the Andes--the natural barrier,first liberated Chile,then Peru by crossing the sea.He was a remarkable strategist and tactician in the modern history of Latin America.In his life,he didn't seek fame or wealth,and sacrificed his valuable years to the liberation cause of Latin America.At the critical moment,it was he who set the general interest above everything else,resolutely retire at the height of his career,and made the immortal contribution to the final success of driving away the Spanish army.
