The female characters in Rebecca in the light of feminism

Since Rebecca published, it has attracted many readers for its unique narrative structure, gothic power and fascinating plot. In this novel, there are two impressive female characters--rebellious Rebecca and obedient ＂I＂ （the narrator）, who have drawn much attention from critics. Usually readers condemn the first, and sympathize with the second because the first wife is considered immoral and frivolous. But from the feminist view, both of them are the victims of the patriarchal society.
