| Abstract: | Chinese and English belong to Han Tibetan language family and Indo European languages respectively, so there are many differences between the two languages. From the perspective of rhetoric, this paper made a comparison between Dui Ding (figure of speech in Chinese) and oxymoron (figure of speech in English) in terms of their conceptual scope and construction pattern. The comparison may help the language learners know the two rhetoric devices better. |
