Thomas Hardy had a unique life.It is obvious that Thomas Hardy,a key novelist in the late 19th century and an important poet in the early 20th century,had double features,which has been in hot dispute.However,as time goes on,more and more attention has been paid to Thomas Hardy as a poet,even to the degree that he was 'the greatest poet in the 20th century'.In consideration of this phenomenon,efforts are made to comb out the process of the reception of Hardy's poetry,to find the objective reasons for his poems' importance.On the basis of this,the essential reasons are explored as well.
