Pushing at the edges of human performance technology
Authors:Neal Margolis
Institution:Neal Margolis has been engineering human performance at various organizational levels for the past 35 years. He has applied each of the most advanced, revolutionary, processes and technologies—from Programmed Instruction to Teaching Machines, to Individualized Slide/Sound, 8mm, and Video, to CBT, to Expert Systems, to Validated Documentation, to Web-based/Distance Learning, to Team Building, to Meeting Facilitation, to Change Management, to Business Process Improvement, to Market Modeling, and more. Neal has had the opportunity to aim his human performance programs at people in a wide variety of performance domains, including: Insurance Salesmen, Coronary Care Nurses, Managers, Computer Engineers, Married Couples, Business Managers, Soldiers, and Children. Throughout his career, he has relied upon the invaluable guiding spirits of Bill Deterline, Paul Harmon, Jim Evans, and Tom Gilbert. Neal runs Skill Designs, a San Francisco Bay Area HPT consultancy striving to make sure that what clients take with them is at least as valuable as the measurable outcomes that they leave behind. He may be reached at nim@skillware.com.
