高等教育发展模式主要包括国际迁移模式、社会职能模式、马丁·特罗发展模式、实用型发展模式等。从我国所面临的国际情势来看，我国高等教育应该走自己的道路，选择合适的发展模式。在数量上，必须要有一个跳跃性增长；在质量上，必须以质量求生存，不能盲目扩大招生数字。
