文艺的意识形态性是文艺的固有品质,这不同于文艺的工具化,前者是蕴寓于一个真实的生命而兴发出来的,而后者却是驭倚于一个生命体而比喻出来的。然而,只要我们的生存环境还存在二元对立的结构,文艺的工具化就难以避免。莫言提出的“‘民间写作’即‘自我写作’”以一种民间的参与精神捕捉到了文艺的生命。

The ideological quality of literature, its connatural quality, is different from the instrumentalization of literature in that the former is implied in and sprouts out of true lives while the latter is a metaphor indicating a life being harnessed. However, the instrumentalization of literature will continue to exist so long as the contradictory duality remains in the world in which we live. Mo Yan has successfully captured the life of literature through his proposition that the masses writing is individual writing in the way of the masses participation therein.
