On Multinationals: Impact of Science and Technology on International Politics

Multinationals, which are intimately involved in progress of science and technology, are exercising an increasingly greater influence on international politics. First, it is development of science and technology that has promoted the formation and growth of multinationals. The formation and growth of multinationals, in turn, have led to further progress of science and technology. Second, advanced science and technology is the most advantageous element of multinationals, which accounts for their power. For this reason, multinationals actually function as a medium for science and technology to influence international politics. The author suggests that we examine the nature and development of the influence of multinationals on international politics with the relation between multinationals and science and technology as the point of departure, concentrating on the historic function of science and technology, in order to reach profound understanding of this phenomenon.
