1882年美国排华法案初探

美国的排华运动一直是学术界的一个重要研究课题,但迄今为止,还尚未有学者对此课题作个案分析.本文试图弥补这一不足,针对1882年美国排华法案进行初步研究.分析了排华法案产生的历史背景,分析了排华法案出台的根本原因是美国工人阶级日趋高涨的排华情绪被资产阶级政党利用的结果,并进而论述了排华针对性是包括华工在内的所有华人.然后,从美国对华移民政策、美国当时的现实情况、中美关系等方面,对该法案进行了反思.

An Initial Study on Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882

The Chinese Exclusion Movement has been an key research topic in the academic ci rcle, but few scholars have done any case analysis so far. The following paper a ims at making up this academic vacancy and gives an initial research on Chinese Exc1usion Act of 1882. It ex1ores the historica1 background of the Act and concl udes the basic reason for the coming out of such an Act, a result of the manipul ation of American workers' Chinese exclusion sentiment by American capitalist pa rties. It also points out the fact that the Exclusion is directed at all Chinese immigrants including those Chinese laborers. Then the paper reconsiders the Act from the perspectives of the American po1icy on Chinese immigrants, American so cial condition of that time and Sino-U.S. relation, and etc..
