| Abstract: | Zhang Yimou has displayed an artistic consciousness in his pursuit of visual manifestation in his movie production, and the rich visual manifestation in his movies has attributed much to his artistic charm. The visual manifestation of Zhang's movies has been achieved particularly through his treatment of frame elements such as the image, the picture design, the scene, the environment, the light and the color. His unique use of music in his films has also strengthened his visual manifestation. |
