中国大学校训英译原则探析

大学校训是一所大学办学理念的浓缩。在中国大学与国外的交流中,得体、准确的校训译文发挥着"急先锋"的重要作用。文章首先对比中西大学校训的异同,然后提出校训翻译应遵循的三个原则。

Study on the Translation Principles of Chinese University Mottos

A university＇s spirit and intention can be summarized in its motto. To the Chinese uni- versities, appropriate and accurate translation of their mottos plays a crucial role in their interac- tion with the outside world. This thesis compares and contrasts the Chinese university mottos with the Western ones, puts forward three principles on the translation of Chinese mottos.
