This paper evaluates Hua Ri-jing's book Notes on Poets and Poetry at Wanqing Pavilion and analyses both his aesthetic characteristics, one of which is to take advantage of a scene to express his emotion and the other of which is to put emotion in scenery in his poems.In addition,he is good both at writing poems with what he sees before his eyes as subject matter and at writing poems on the spur of the moment.As a poet of the contemporary era,it is not easy for him to be so familiar with rules and forms of classical poetic composition and apply them to his poems.That is why his book Notes on Poets and Poetry at Wanqing Pavilion is regarded as one of the best books of its kind.
