| 摘 要： | 《白鲸》是19世纪美国小说家麦尔维尔的代表作,它描述了捕鲸船“裴廓德号”在船长亚哈的带领下追捕白鲸莫比迪克的故事。从生态批判的角度而言,这部小说实际上是一篇生态寓言,它表达了作者对人类破坏自然和谐、对其它生物进行滥捕滥杀的行为的忧虑。同时作者预言,如果人类仍然如此倒行逆施,不对大自然保持应有的尊重,将可能面临极其惨痛的结局。

| Abstract: | Moby Dick is a masterpiece by Melville and narrates the struggle between the sailors onboard Pequod,a whaling ship led by Ahab the captain,and Moby Dick,a seemingly unconquerable white whale.As far as eco-criticism is concerned,it is rather an ecological allegory,expressing the author's concern over the mass killing of animals and the serious human damage to Nature.Melville also predicted that without a reasonable respect to the environment,the human beings would be likely to suffer a disastrous result. |
