| Abstract: | Pragmatic theories are applied to the study of the allusions in ancient Chinese poems.It is pointed out that the best way to understand the allusions in ancient Chinese poems and thus to properly understand the poems themselves is to take into consideration the contexts of both the poems and the allusions used in them. |
