| 摘 要： | 要使世界更好地了解中国，中国更好地走向世界，对外报道的英译在改革开放的今天显得更为重要。本文从对外报道的英译特点及对外报道的英译中应遵循的几个原则入手，着重阐述了对外报道的英译并非逐字翻译。对外报道的成功与否，首先取决于传播效果，要想取得好的传播效果，必须保证汉语新闻的英译质量。因此汉语新闻的英译质量与传播效果密切相关。
