The Development and Inspiration of Construction of Laws and Regulations During Closure Period of Archives in European and American Countries

The contradiction and balance between the open accessand the privacy protection of archival information is an important issue in archival science, and the closure period is the core concept. In foreign country, the closure periods of public archives are usually stipulatedin the form of laws and regulations. The related theoretical research of foreign archival academic circles, and the development of archival closed period laws and regulations in the United Kingdom, the United States, Switzerland, France, Germany, Sweden and the European Union provided inspiration for the research on closure period in Chinese archival academia. In conclusion, the author gets the enlightenments for ChinaStrengthening the concept of information disclosure for promoting the construction of national democracy, following the principle of divisibility to enhance the scientific nature of information disclosure, detailing archives laws and regulations to balance the right to know and privacy, improving the quality of employees and strengthening the organizational function of the academy.
