Practice Experience and Inspiration from City Public Reading Service at Abroad

Scientific specification, order development and improvement of city public reading service, is necessary to scientifically plan, develop and improve the city. From the angle of governmental public management, this paper explores the contents and significance of city public reading services, and the advanced service practices in many foreign cities. It discusses the guideline and philosophy, the promotion plans, the investment subject, and main readers and the innovation experiences of public reading service. Finally, it makes some inspiration for the city public reading service in China.
