| Abstract: | To teach text as a whole lays the emphasis on the inference of the textual meaning by way of various language skills in the reading comprehension situation,whereas discussion-oriented teaching focuses on the cultivation of students'communicative competence.The two methods can be combined in classroom teaching so as to add something innovative to the traditional instruction mode. |
