Studies on Mandatory Bid of Our Country

Since 2003, mandatory id became familiar to shareholders of Chinese stock market. Mandatory bid requires a bidder trying to acquire control of a firm to extend the offer for all shares of the firm. It is a break through in Chinese acquisition market where acquisition by contracts dominated before. Combined with Chinese capital market, this paper tries to introduce mandatory bid and analyzes how adoption of such a rule affects minority shareholders and majority hareholders. In the long it is the best interests of all stakeholders and society at large.
