"一部戏剧史,半部在浙江。"目前,浙江省有56个剧种列入省级"非遗",24个剧种列入国家级"非遗",因而被称为"戏剧大省"。但据浙江省政协文卫体委员会和浙江省戏剧发展促进会调研,只有14个剧种可以登台表演,有11个剧种已经进入濒危状态。如在千岛湖畔的淳安县,古属睦州,睦剧全盛时有90多个剧团,300多名艺人。而现在县里只有一个睦剧团,戏称"天下第一团"。为此,浙江省文化厅专门制订

Zhejiang Takes Action to Preserve Regional Operas

Experts agree that Zhejiang accounts for half of the history of Chinese theater. Zhejiang deserves this honor as testified by the fol lowing data： Zhejiang has 56 regional operas on a provincial list of intangible cultural heritage, 24 of which are national intangible her itages. However, the regional operas differ in their existences. Four teen of the 56 have troupes that have regular performances whereas eleven operas are on the verge of extinction. For example, Muju Opera Troupe in Chun＇an County is one of its kind in the world. The artists of the Muju Opera call the troupe the number one troupe under the sun. In sharp contrast, there were more than 90 Muju Op era troupes in its golden age back in its good old days. In order to preserve the heritage of the regional operas, Zhejiang Administration of Culture has recently issued a plan to preserve re gional operas on the verge of extinction. The regional operas which are on the verge of extinction and which are listed as intangible heritage will get special treatment, each will be given differentiated policies in a bid to save them and get them back to prosperity. On the morning of July 19, 2013, a special event was held at the West Brook Wetland in the western suburb of Hangzhou, capital of eastern China＇s coastal Zhejiang Province. The twopart event comprised an exhibition to showcase the charms of the 56 regional operas that are provincial and national heritages and a performance by artists of ten regional operas across Zhejiang. The event inaugurated both the project for preserving regional operas on the verge of extinction and the foundation of newage entrepreneurs for preservation of intangible heritage. Zhou Guofu, deputy director of the CPPCC Committee of Cultural and Historical Data, beat the gong to inaugurate the project and the foundation.
