| 摘 要： | “国民性”改造是五四时期众多启蒙先驱者共同探讨的话题,周作人和林语堂也以“国民性”改造作为他们反抗封建制度与封建文化的思想武器。他们改造“国民性”的思想不仅表现在对“人”的觉醒问题的关注、还表现在对“民主”的欢呼和对“科学”的诉求以及他们的文学观念与实践上。对此问题的研究也为我们研究资产阶级自由知识分子的心路历程提供了参照。

| Abstract: | Many militant intellectuals had the similar enlightenment idea of "Nurturing Man in the Spirit of Subjectivity" in the period the May 4th Movement. Zhou Zuo-ren and Lin Yu-tang also used it as a weapon to fight against feudal system and feudal culture, whose ideas mainly showed as follows: first, "cultivation of people"; second: "science"; finally: literacy concept and practice. A research into this issue is conducive to a deeper and comprehensive understanding of bourgeois intellectuals'. |
