The Potential Psychological Influence of CET4/6 and Large Class Teaching of College English

With reference to the theories of educational and social psychology,the paper demonstrates the potential influence of CET4/6 and large class teaching of college English. CET4/6 cannot efficiently stimulate the students to further efforts. It may increase the students' debilitating anxiety, decrease the feeling of self-efficiency, and externalize motivation. The effect of teaching on the students is weakened in a large class. It's difficult to develop a close relationship between the teacher and the students, thus the students' enthusiasm in learning cannot be stimulated. Moreover, in a large class, most students' are unhappy about the single type of instruction, which is not adapted to their personal style of learning.
