A Study on Metaphors from the Perspective of Cognitive Linguistics

metaphor is not only a kind of figurative means,but also a kind of thinking way.Having its root in the cognitive way,metaphor is endowed with the strong cultural flavor.The article first expounds upon the viewpoint of Lakoff and Johnson on cognitive metaphors,and then makes an analysis on the relationship between metaphor and translation.On the basis,the author brings forth some concrete methods for the translation of metaphors.
