The Religion and Education of the North American Colony

The Education development in the colonial period of North America was greatly influenced by the religion. At first, every kind of schools, colleges was established out of the religious motivation. This laid a foundation for later American education, especially for American higher education. Every respect of education in North American period, especially the development of higher education bears the religious characteristics. After the eighteenth century, religious influences on education were weakening gradually.
