Pragmatic Effect on College English Teaching

Pragmatics,for college English educators,is a new linguistic research.In traditional language teaching,we usually put emphasis on grammar while usually ignoring the pragmatic function of language teaching,which has already become a main obstacle to improve students' communication skills.The rise of this study has opened up a new approach to study and resolve these issues.This paper tries to explore how the theory and its practical use have made an effect on college English teaching.
