古希腊竞技职业化刍议

从运动员收入来源和竞技水平的角度上看,古希腊竞技职业化由来已久。至迟自公元前6世纪起,职业运动员就活跃于竞技舞台,公元前5世纪职业化已成为一种普遍现象。对城邦而言,竞技职业化有利于强化希腊人的民族认同感,有利于传播希腊文明;对运动员而言,它能保障现役运动员在聘请教练、置办设备、旅行居住、招待祭祀、建造塑像等方面的正常开支,并为将来进一步发展提供良好平台。古典作家的批判一方面源于他们根深蒂固的贵族意识,另一方面与社会环境变化相关;现代作家的批判与顾拜旦对业余体育大力提倡及当时运动水平有关。
