Analyzing the Causes of Corruption and Bribery from Structural Tension Theory

Merton structural strain theory holds that deviant behavior generated from the break among the achievement of the legal means which provided by the social goal of universal culture and social structure.By means of this theory,this paper analyzes corruption and bribery.In the period of social transition,the aim of the general cultural has been changed,while the society made the public servants limit their legitimate achievement of this goal and offered illegal means of convenience,resulting in a fasten way to the breeding of corruption and bribery.The method of"High Salary,Less Incorrupt Public Servants"is after all a good way to control corruption and bribery.
