语言及传统艺术棱镜下中国文化的高语境特征

语言和艺术是文化的核心,前者是文化的载体与容器,后者是它所属的文化的反映和代表,传统艺术更是一个民族文化底蕴的反映物。了解语言和艺术的特征将有助于对文化整体的解读和认识。结合美国人类学家霍尔提出的文化的高低语境之理论及其对高低语境文化特征的界定,阐释汉语造字构词的理据性和汉语语法的意合特征以及中国传统艺术的含蓄性和写意性特征,从而说明中国文化在高低语境的连续轴上是处在相对高的一端。

On High-Contextual Featured of Chinese Culture from Perspectives of Language and Traditional Arts

Language and arts are the kennel of a culture.The former serves as the carrier and container of the culture,whereas the latter reflects and represents the culture it belongs to,and traditional arts are even regarded as the reflection of cultural heritages.Understanding the features of language and traditional arts will facilitate the cognition and interpretation of the culture as a whole.With reference to the continuum of low-high context of the culture posed by the renowned American anthropologist Edward T.Hall in his distinction and comparison among cultures,this paper looks into the characteristics of Chinese language from the perspectives of motivation of its character coinage,word formation and paratactic tradition of its grammar,analyzes the suppositional feature of Chinese traditional arts,hence draw the conclusion that Chinese culture slopes to the higher pole of the continuum.
