新型四级考试即将在全国实施。新试题在多大程度上影响学生的考试成绩？在多大程度上克服了以选择题为主的传统四级题的缺陷？研究表明：1、新试题对学生的成绩有显著影响。参加测试的学生在新题中的平均分和及格率都有所下降；2、四个较新的题型中，只有短文听写构成独立的因子；3、新试题未能克服旧试题以选择题为主的缺陷；4、说、写能力的测试依然没有得到有效的解决。

Comparative Study of Traditional & New CET4

The new CET4(College English Test Band 4) is soon to be put into use throughout China.To what extent does the new test affect examinees' performance and overcome the defects of the traditional CET4? A small scale study has revealed what follows: 1) The new test has significant influence on students' performance,their scores in the new test being significantly lower;2) Only one of the four new tests(compound dictation) constitutes an independent factor;3) The new test does not overcome the traditional version's defect of being dominated by multiple-choice questions,and 4) productive skills(writing and speaking) are still not adequately tested.
