“自主学习”的教学思想推动着英语教学改革，英语教师必须从传统的“传道、授业、解惑”的角色定位中跳脱出来，在自主学习模式下帮助学习者提高掌握自主学习策略、确定学习目标、选定学习内容和进度、选择学习方法和技巧、监控学习过程和评估学习效果等方面的能力。

The Role and Function of Teacher in Autonomous Learning Model

The idea of Leaner Autonomy has been promoting the revolution of English teaching. English teachers have to get rid of the traditional role orientation of Preach, Teach and Answer, and help learners to develop the abilities on mastering the strategy of learner autonomy,ascertaining learning object, choosing learning content and the rate of progress, selecting learning method and skill, monitoring learning process and evaluating learning effect under the model of autonomous learning.
