| 摘 要： | 转喻作为一种重要的认知工具和交际策略广泛地应用在英语新闻中,以唤起读者的注意力和兴趣。本文以真实新闻为素材,分析了报刊英语新闻中转喻在词汇、语法和语篇层面的使用情况并从交际语境顺应视角对英语新闻中转喻现象进行全面的分析和解释。表明转喻在英语新闻中的运用不是任意的,而是顺应了读者及新闻工作者的心理世界、社交世界和物质世界。

| Abstract: | Metonymy is widely applied in English news publications for its role of being a cognitive tool and a communicative strategy and aims at attracting the readers＇ attention as well as arousing their interests.This paper describes metonymy in English news at the lexical level,grammatical and textual level.Based on the adaptation of communicative context,the paper makes a comprehensive analysis and explanation for the metonymic phenomena in English news.It is identified that the utilization of metonymy is not arbitrary,but adapts to the journalists and readers＇ mental world,social world and physical world. |
