Documentation science in the context of the post-non-classical development of modern science

The evolution of documentation science in the context of global issues related to the development of science is studied. It is indicated that modern documentation science is close to its transition to a new type of scientific rationality, which is called post-non-classical rationality. The specificity of post-non-classical rationality in a document research is analyzed. It is suggested that one apply a phenomenological approach for the elaboration of a general document theory.
