Research on education in developing countries: An inventory of Dutch projects and programmes

This paper surveys both past and present research on education in developing countries that has been undertaken by Dutch researchers. It classifies the research according to whether it has been concerned with formal, non-formal or informal education; examines different sources of funding; and the types of collaborative ventures involved. It also attempts to evaluate different types of programme, including private ventures, and highlights some of the major ‘bottlenecks’ which hamper research.
