The Reasons of Gorbachev become the Top Leader of the Soviet Communist Party

This paper pointed out that the disintegration of the Soviet Union is not inevitable.Gorbachev was the last general secretary of the Soviet Communist Party,but he did not have the quality of the leaders of major powers,his radical reform is the direct cause of the disintegration.Why Gorbachev to become the top leaders of the Soviet Union in 1985?This paper analyzed the reasons from four aspects:The complex domestic background of the Soviet Union,the international situation in 1980s,the evolution of the Soviet Communist Party leadership groups and the quality of Gorbachev.In Soviet history,has never mature system for selection and training the future leader of the party and the state's.This is an important reason leading to the disintegration of the Soviet Union,and it is worthy of deep thinking and reference.
