共有的东西无所谓交流,相异的东西才有交流的必要。不同民族文化的差异,既构成了人类文化交流的必要性,同时也构成了交流的障碍。因此,在翻译活动中,我们经常遇到不可译现象。本文从文化和语言的角度探讨了语言不可译性的表现。

Cultural Differences and Untranslatability

For things in common, nothing matters whether to exchange or not, whereas for something different, it is necessary to exchange. Cultural differences in different nations not only cause the necessity of cultural exhange, but also form communicative barriers. As a result , during the process of translating, we often have to deal with untranslatability. This paper discusses untranslatability between English and Chinese from the standpoint of culture and language.
