On Zhang Jiong's Life and His Academic Achievement

Zhang Jiong is a scholar and writer who is invigorated in Chinese academic field during the 1980's.He has combined and innovated the three fields of literary theory,literary critics and the research of literary history,and he is distinctive in the contemporary literature because of his combination of literary creation and history.As a trans-century literary figure,he has experienced historical changes and established his life attitude and academic position.During the new period of 20 years,he turns to critics from literary theory and then he returns back to the field of literary history research.He has wide academic vision and he has always been trying to use Marxist view and method in his literary study and criticism.He is aware of literary criticism from aesthetic and historical point of view.He has not only written many comments on writers and their works and also written many comprehensive comments.He is active to be a bridge between writers and readers,offering important consults to historians in literature.
