Abstract:George Lakoff & Mark Johnson proposed the term "metaphorical concept",which allows us to make connections across experiential domains and to find coherence between unrelated or not necessarily similar events. It reflects the cognitive process of mankind, and it is a way of thinking. This common cognitive process would reasonably result in a lot of similarities between English emotion metaphors and the Chinese ones.As to the human emotional concept "anger",it is metaphorically conceptualized on the basis of the human physical,abstract-concrete conceptualization, spatial, natural phenomena and characteristics of animals. And at the same time,it is the different human experience from different people of different languages that may cause their different conceptualizations.
Keywords:metaphorical concept   anger   cognitive   culture
