关于幼童留美的当代反思

总结中国近代史上幼童留美的经验教训，可以为我们认识、分析当代的留学教育提供一个观察的角度。从宏观上讲，洋务派缺乏整体观念只进行零星教育改革以及留学政策制定上的随意性弊端，我们当引以为戒。从微观上讲，今天的少年留学生缺乏当年留美幼童的一些有利条件，对待留学当持谨慎态度。

Reflections on Chinese children studying in U. S. A. in contemporary era

Reviewing the history of Chinese children studying in U.S.A.in modern times,we may have a better understanding of students studying abroad.From a macroscopic point of view,the office-holders in Westernization Movement(initiated mainly by Qing bureaucrats in the latter half of the 19th century to introdue techniques of capitalist production for the purpose of propping up the tottering Qing government)had no overall plan and made some policies at will,from which we should learn a lesson from.From a microscopic point of view,the children studying abroad today have no the advantages enjoyed by the children studying abroad in the 19th century.We must be cautious in dealing with the matter of children studying abroad.
