| 摘 要： | 晚清时期著名的洋务派官僚沈葆桢早年深受传统儒家学说影响,科举取仕后从翰林院编修到江西巡抚,曾经走过一帆风顺的仕途之路。然而值其官运亨通之际,他却选择接任在当时颇具风险的洋务企业——福州船政大臣的职务,沈葆桢之所以作出这样的选择不是出于什么“机会主义”,而有其深刻的思想动因。

| Abstract: | Shen Baozhen, the famous official during the Westernization Movement in the late Qing Dynasty, had been influenced in his early years by traditional Chinese Confucianism. His official career from the Imperial Academy to Jiangxi grand coordinator had been quite smooth until he decided to take office as Fuzhou minister of Vessel Administration（Westernized enterprise）, which was then regarded as a risky post. He didn＇t make such a choice out of ＂speculative motive＂, but actually his choice had its significant motives and reasons. |
