为了切实提高英语专业学生的综合能力和英语应用水平，必须转变学生的学习观念，进行学习策略培训以便使其找到适合自己的学习方法。本文通过探讨教学模式改革，把培养学生的综合能力和技能作为教学的重要内容，鼓励学生参与课堂活动，对自己的学习负责。

Study on strategies of self-directed EFL learning in English majors

In order to improve the English communicative competence, we must change concepts of English teaching and learning and integrate some autonomous learning elements in and after class to help the students find proper methods. The paper reports a research on the reform of English teaching and learning model, in which strategies of autonomous learning elements are integrated so that the students can take responsibility in English study.
