荀子的“先王”“后王”说与辩证道统观

摘    要:荀子的政治理论既主张"法后王",又坚持"法先王",两者看似矛盾,但实际上却体现了荀子"先王""后王"一以贯之,既坚持前代传统,又与时俱进的辨证道统观。这种辨证道统观是荀子在割断了"天道"对"人道"的神秘制约关系之后,对儒家政治学说以"道统"制约君权做出的一种理论安排。

Abstract:In Xunzi's politic theory,his advocating of "following the previous Kings" and also "following the latter Kings" seems contradictory.However,the unifying of the "Previous Kings" and the "Latter Kings",and persisting on the tradition of former generation yet keeping up with the time as well,these are all representing Xun Zi's dialectic opinion of the tradition of "Dao",which is a theoretic arrangement made by Xun Zi,in order to balance the emperor's autocratic power,after he had cut off the mysteries link between "Heaven" and the human.
