On Yuan Shi-kai'Thoughts and Practice of Developing China's Import Substitute Industries

It was the important part in Yuan'economic thoughts to develop china's import substitute industries.In this respect,Yuan played an important role in china's economic modernization.His ideas concerning it can be seen in four aspects:reasonably opposing foreign goods and taking back the rights and interests taken away by foreigners which belonged to china;promoting the production of ching's industrial goodsand stopping the import of foreign goods;introducing foreign capitals into china;importing and spreading the use of machinery,developing china's industries and helping the growth of its national capitalist industries.
