| 摘 要： | 英语习语是英语民族长期社会实践积累下来的一种约定俗成的特殊语言形式,像镜子一样折射出它的历史和文化。这些习语也蕴藏着大量的隐喻。隐喻不仅仅是一种语言现象,而且还是一种认知现象。本文从英语习语的角度探讨隐喻研究的相关理论及隐喻的本质。

| Abstract: | English idiom is the conventionalized peculiar form of language which was accumulated from social practice by the English nations.It reflects English history and culture like a mirror.It also entails a large number of metaphors,which are not only a language phenomena but also a cognitive phenomena.Hereby the article tries to explore the relevant theories of metaphor and the essence of metaphor by the study of English idioms. |
