There are plenty of expressions of "AABB"pattern reiterative locution in the two historical novels by Zheng Liangshu,which show the rwiter's efforts to approach the everyday expressions from his scholar's speech,reflect the existing state and tred of development of the Chinese used in Southeast Asia and in South China.Those expressions also show the scholarly elegance of the writer, and can be used as important language material in the esearch work on the common Spoken Chinese. Half of the expressions are commonly seen, and the rest are not.The latter will be tested by the rules of being "accepted or abandoned through common practice"in the process of the standardization of the language.
