| Abstract: | This paper gives a brief account of Mulian Saves His Mother known as the first play of the traditional Chinese operas. By sorting out the relation in origin between the first half of Puxian opera Fu Tiandou and other operas about Mulian, it centers on the feature and position Fu Tiandou occupied in the history of the traditional Chinese operas. |
