In The Diaries of Adam and Eve, Mark Twain represents the process of Adam and Eve＇ s first meeting, getting to know and falling in love with each other in a bright and humorous style. He highly prai- ses the pure love between males and females. By presenting the different characters and the techniques of writing, the author creates the brilliant first woman in the world, Eve. Moreover, he makes Eve contrast sharply with Adam. In this way, Twain satirizes and overturns the male authority; expresses his longing for the ideal society based on the harmonious relationship among human beings as well as between man and nature. These ideas provide rich sources for the emergence and development of the eco-feminists＇ ideology in the 20th century.
