Opinion Stability and Change During an Electoral Campaign: Results from the 1999 Swiss Election Panel Study

Institution:Pascal Sciarini is Professor of political science at the Graduate Institute of Public Administration (IDHEAP), Lausanne, and Visiting Professor at the University of Geneva and at the European Institute, University of Basle. He has published several articles on Swiss politics, comparative political economy, European integration, and opinion formation in journals such as Comparative Political Studies, Electoral Studies, European Journal of Political Research, West European Politics. He has recently co-edited Schweizer Wahlen 1999—Elections féderales 1999 (Bern: Haupt).
Hanspeter Kriesi is Professor of political science at the University of Zurich, where he teaches comparative politics. He is currently involved in research on opinion formation in direct democratic procedures, on the Europeanization of public space, and on the transformation of European party systems. His research interests also include the mobilization of new social movements and of movements of the new radical right.
